Lemon Ginger Tea

Lemon Ginger Tea is a perfect fall or winter drink, mainly because it warms your body from the inside out. Ginger helps fight respiratory problems, reduces inflammation and strengthens immunity. Now on the mental side the benefits of Ginger Tea is also amazing, by relieving stress and migraines, yessssss...... Plus it also does a tummy good by enhancing the digestive system.


Ginger can be rather spicy but you can always alter the level of spiciness by adding 1/2 inch or 1 inch of freshly cut ginger root. But why not mix it up and make it amazing by adding mint leaves, orange zest, chamomile, vanilla extract or spices like cinnamon and cardamon. Or add some milk to your cup,in replace of the lemon juice! Ginger is a powerful herb and truly a blessing. Make sure you are using it. Please Enjoy!


Ingredients


Serves: 1-2


1 Tbsp. fresh grated ginger

2 cups filtered water

1 Tbsp. raw honey

1/2 lemon, juiced


Optional


1 cinnamon stick

Camomile flowers

Echinacea tincture/ this item can be purchased at The Te Spot

Fresh mint leaves

Pinch of cayenne pepper


Directions

So you want to peel the ginger root using a peeler or the back of a spoon.


Grate the ginger with a grater/zester. if you chose too slice it, slice thin and use more.

So this is where your you would infuse the ginger; if you add cinnamon, mint, Camomile or cayenne will come in if your adding. remember this part is optional!


If using a sauce pan, bring water to a boil, add ginger and turn off heat. Put the lid on it and let steep for 10 minutes. after 10 minutes strain the water to remove the ginger.....


But if using a teapot, add ginger in teapot and pour boiling hot water in it. Let steep for 10 minutes.


Add fresh lemon juice and natural sweetener if you like. Stir and enjoy!


If you want a cold glass of ginger tea, let tea cool down, store in the fridge and add ice before serving.
